THE STUDIOS OF KEY WEST OFFERS PRIVATE BOOKINGS & REGULAR GALLERY HOURS
The three galleries inside The Studios of Key West, 533 Eaton St., will feature artists Scott Ponemone, Olga Manosalvas and Kyla Piscopink through April 29.
To help keep art accessible during this challenging time, The Studios is offering a number of new ways to enjoy its exhibitions this season. In addition to regular gallery hours (noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday), The Studios is offering private tours to couples and small groups.
The perfect opportunity to enjoy art safely, bookings begin with a rooftop mimosa at The Studios’ historic art deco building on Eaton Street, and continue with a tour of the galleries.
The April exhibition lineup features artists Scott Ponemone, Olga Manosalvas and Kyla Piscopink.
In the XOJ Gallery, Ponemone presents “2 x 2,” a watercolor series exploring human interactions that ties in perfectly with Key West’s One Human Family ideal. Each painting in the series presents the unique dynamic between two persons at the moment when Ponemone (the artist and a stranger) greets them and asks them to be models for his art.
Manosalvas is known for her colorful paintings and sculptures that depict island dwellers, Mardi Gras revelers and voodoo queens with a distinct voice of the tropics. Her latest works explore a more monochromatic plane, capturing her figures in tones and highlighting sections of skin pigments and fabrics for added emphasis.
In the Zabar Project Gallery, Piscopink presents “Pisces.” The dancers in Piscopink’s photographs inhabit an ethereal underwater dream world, offering both an escape from the day-to-day, and a deep connection to nature, the human form, imagination and profound spiritual forces.
More information on the current exhibitions and private bookings is at tskw.org or 305-296-0458.
