With Key West Pride approaching, the Key West Business Guild invites local artists to submit a symbol of pride in their medium of choice. All submissions will be entered in the art competition, then auctioned off, with proceeds to benefit the guild and their efforts with the LGBTQ+ community. Artwork must be completed and submitted to the guild at 808 Duval St. by Friday, May 28, to be photographed and posted for the start of Key West Pride the following week. The U.S. Navy will conduct a field carrier landing practice (FCLP) operation at Naval Air Station Key West’s Boca Chica Field with Super Hornet fighter jets that come from Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia to train.
The landings will take place Friday to Sunday, April 9 to 11, from 7 to 10 p.m.
“Residents in the neighborhoods around Boca Chica Field will notice an increase in jet noise during the training periods,” states a press release from the Navy.
“We try to get this information out to everyone as early as possible so residents can plan accordingly,” Sohaney said.

Easter Sunday looked a little different at Key Dives. The crew and community of divers all pitched in for another Trash Trek. These dives are a shop specialty, where participants help remove trash from local reefs while enjoying their beauty. Everyone is invested in the health of the oceans and has the opportunity to help with their own two hands.
On the holiday morning, the dive boat was dedicated to a full-day trip. Everyone was eager and on board to dive with a purpose. Their targets were Bishop, Crater and Mosh Pit reefs in Islamorada.
