Marathon High School seniors Owen Pitchford and Katerina Nikiforova were named to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team for the 2020/21 school year. The FHSAA considers this its most prestigious end-of-the-year award for student athletes. Twenty-four student athletes around the state are named to the team each year. Pitchford and Nikiforova each will receive a $1,700 scholarship and the possibility of being named the Student Athlete of the Year for Florida and receiving an additional scholarship worth $4,600.
