Staff from MarineLab in Key Largo grabbed trash bags and headed out for a cleanup of a mangrove island in Dagny Johnson State Park on March 30. This site is an important part of a state restoration project to clean debris caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017. The group focused on removing plastic debris, which is often laced with chemicals and is frequently eaten by animals.
