‘Bike to the Beach’ Autism bike ride into Islamorada this Saturday

The Bike to the Beach is an Autism Awareness bike ride that’s set to take place Saturday, April 17. Starting in Miami, participants have the option to ride 25, 50 or 100 miles with the ending in Islamorada.

The Carrie Brazer Center for Autism will be hosting a water station at its center in Tavernier to help raise awareness for autism in the Keys. The center said it would love to see the community come out and support the cause.

The Bike to the Beach organization has extended their bike ride to Florida for the first time this year. Organizing rides in seven states across the country and supporting local special needs, Bike to the Beach says “It’s our goal to support individuals and families with autism and disabilities in the best way that we can. As a result, we focus on supporting local support services, research, advocacy, and awareness.

“We accomplish this through our balance of partnerships at the local and national level,” the organization  continued. “This is a huge blessing for the South Florida community because it enables us to expand our resources and connect with other organizations to best serve the Keys autism and special needs community.”

At the Carrie Brazer Center for Autism, the goal is to educate the community and bring awareness to the Keys by joining these group efforts to raise awareness.

Families in the Keys needing assistance often find it difficult to travel hours to receive services or to see physicians. That is why the Carrie Brazer Center is excited to offer occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, speech therapy, and parent training at its Keys campus, located at 92330 Overseas Highway, #102.
